Conferring Nobel Peace Prizes has an astounding opposite effect. The one bestowed on Barack Obama produced an American President who "left the killings to algorithms and drones" and dropped 3 bombs per hour. With the Prize, the beloved and garlanded Aung San Suu Kyi remained horrifically silent over the genocide of Rohingya peoples, dying by machetes and rape. And, currently we are watching as Abiy Ahmed, Nobel Peace Prize champion, who made peace with Eritrea but is waging war with a 'belligerent' province. Nobel Peace Prize, what an ironic piece of cake you are.
