The city is tearing up front gardens that have been carefully gardened and maintained by owners. Technically this land in front of the houses is owned by the city but home owners spend a lot of time and resources in keeping beautiful garden fronts, albeit the efforts are made by gardeners, who can be seen in these parts on their bicycles with their tools tied on the back seat.
Why are the gardens being torn up? Sorry I forgot to mention they are laying some new fibre lines although it's very shocking they haven't put up any sign boards. The labourers hired by the contractor can be signed toiling, digging, carrying the huge cables and, then resting under shrubs and trees. I asked a fellow how much he was being being. He said "sometimes 800 or sometimes 1200 daily."
