Kavita and I went on a very short walk but it was greatly rewarding. We went up Gurley Street and, stopped to watch a football game. Between you and me, neither Kavita or I are crazy about football but still, it was too exciting not to stop and watch the game. Maybe it was that the boys seemed to be so cool and, good at playing football. It was a dusty ground with litter strewn everywhere. There were houses with zinc roofs and, at least one time the ball was hit to the top of the house. For a few moments, everyone thought the ball would not come down but eventually it rolled down.
One of the boys had a very fierce hair style.
I think one side made 2 goals.
There was one boy who was sitting in the branches of one of the mango trees and watching the game. Kavita asked me, "How did he get on top of the tree?" These days, I get very annoyed with her obvious questions. "Kavita, he climbed up of course. How else would he get up?" Kavita gets annoyed when I get annoyed.
One of the boys had put his clothes inside a nook inside the base of the mango tree.
While we were watching the game, one of the generator technicians from our neighbours walked by us. We see him every day, of course, when we are at NATC.
A couple of girls kept talking to Kavita. They were a few years older but they really got a kick out of teasing Kavita. They would come up to her, say things, giggle and run away. It didn't seem cruel. "You eat chicken and salad!" they said with a funny feigned accent and, then somehow found this funny.
See a video I made of the bit of the game we watched.
We kept walking up Gurley Street. We passed by a few bars on either side of the road and you'd think it was a big party going on. It was extremely lively and festive.
We wound up at Mama Susu's for dinner. Before that, I took some photographs of biblical graffiti.
