Rainy walk, rainy day

I love these rainy days. I think I'm obsessed with the white, muted but very bright light you see on rain-drenched cloudy days. It's a cloudy, silvery day light. Puddles and the water on the greenery, pavements, streets, reflect a delicate shine. There's a coldness, a chilliness that makes you shiver or sweat in a more humid climate. In Monrovia, the deluge of the rainy season soaks and dampens everything and, we sweat even more while taking a walk. But everything is magical and, wet and, damp after the rain.

Did spring arrive too early this year?

And does that mean summer is coming too?

The cherry blossoms are blooming. The gardeners are planting paneeriyan

I took a long walk around the neighbourhood before picking up Kavita from school. By the time I reached her school, I was quite warm and Kavita was even more hot and bothered. She refused to walk back home and, we got a cab to go home.

Check out the pictures of the flower beds and a big big busy bee collecting nectar.

After you eat all the jam, nutella and ketchup

I asked our mali, Peeran, to make a little border around a plant in the outside garden with empty glass jars which I saved and cleaned.
