Back on the terrace

We had our first evening tea on the terrace since we got back. I was relieved to see my plants are still alive and, in fact, have been thriving. I have quite a collection of potted plants and, I felt rich and proud of my garden terrace, looking at the sunset view of the city, sipping my tea. And, yes, it was a bit nice to share it with the new baby, too! She slept through it, though.

I miss the CTA b****

I kind of miss the CTA now that I'm back in Liberia. What an understatement. I miss public transportation. I miss infrastructure. I miss order. I miss convenience.

But what I REALLY miss is bitching about the CTA more than anything else. I miss unreasonably comparing it to the London Underground. I miss whining about how old the trains are. I miss making fun of the simple colour naming of the different lines: red, blue, orange, pink and blue.

But most of all, I miss the CTA lady. You know, the one who goes, "Attention please, an in bound train towards the loop will be arriving shortly."

No, b****, it never arrives shortly. It arrives as shortly as a War and Peace novel.

On top of it, is she lazily doing her nails while making this announcement while we are freezing on the platform??
